Apparently during the keynote yesterday, anonymous 4chan bastards hacked the liveblog from MacRumors and made themselves known — right in the middle of the keynote — by typing "Steve Jobs is dead."

(I like the MacRumors team and I'm sure this was a huge pain in the ass for them, but yet...I giggled.)

i giiggled, too, for a brief moment.. it would be funny if a 12 year old did this, but if grown men are finding fulfillment with this behavior, it's pretty lame. i don't know, this kind of stuff actually creates sympathy for mr. jobs.

In a way, I thought it was a horribly squandered opportunity. Maybe I was just spoiled by the Onion's brilliant MacBook Wheel spoof the day before, but this could have been the stage for some perfectly-timed absurdity or subtle Samuel Beckett-esque interjections. Instead, it was just a bunch of unimaginative and feeble-minded lulz.

I appreciate the effort, but the imature "owned" behaviour in the picture is wasted in what could be an amazing subversion. I personally would liveblog the appearance of Steve Jobs, running from the midsection into the gigantic display screen. A hammer might be involved.

I was doing a twitter search of #mwsf09, and for a while there, this was bigger news than anything they were saying on stage. XD

I think that is very funny. Apple people take themselves far too seriously, this is good for them.

I think you're missing the bigger news in this piece. TUPAC IS ALIVE!

I thought this was freaking hilarious.

Then again my maturity level can only be described as "prepubescent." So, you know. YMMV.

I have to agree that this is just a big whoop-de-doo. Lame-ass tagging isn't especially interesting - all it shows is that you've got some SupR-K-RAD XPloits.

What you do is make just ONE post, inserted in the stream :

"Steve Ballmer has just jumped out of the crowd and is now throwing chairs at the stage and shouting like a howler monkey."

And THEN, you let it be and see what gets passed around. I guaran-damn-tee you, it'll be the talk of the blogs for DAYS, if not longer.

If you just throw crap up there, everyone just remembers that you did some stupid crap - it's the equivalent of shouting "POOPY!" at dinner like a four-year-old. Do something *awesome* instead.
