CES Video: D-Box Motion Chairs

We got a chance to sample the motion simulation gear from D-BOX at this year’s CES, including this fantastic new GPH-120 “Home” model that starts at a low, low $3,000. Pricey, yes — but it makes most other home interactive motion systems seem chumpy.

Wow, how underwhelming! Hasn’t anyone seen the Force Dynamics chair? I think it might be a bit more expensive, but it’s got full motion g-forces, and a locked screen. Talk about sloppy seconds D-Box.

The steering wheel on that thing looks especially cheesy. I remember first trying “Hard Drivin’” at a trade show years ago. The wheel was the thing that really made that game great. You’d land slightly wrong and it would just tear itself out of your hands. Now that was force feedback! The most immersive driving game ever, for my quarter anyway. Who’d like to see a new version of that game? Same force-feedback hardware, updated graphics. Maybe such a thing could be home-brewed?

A rich guy gets to have an awesome time playing with an expensive kick-ass toy? Finally!
