This looks like the old Circuit City here in Sacramento, on Arden Way. Sadly, that one actually closed a couple of years back so that they could move like a block away into a new building.
Why Palin Campain Offices of coarse...

I'm sure franchises like this are on the way:
Oops, not sure if mine made it up here, so I'll try again: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_OtJMAZWExdU/SYAgDPjr9CI/AAAAAAAABIY/4Q_D4mwmoZk/s400/sign_of_the_times.jpg

I think I should have gone to bed instead of trying to do this...it is really dumb, and badly executed, but for some reason this is the first thing I thought of when I looked at the ex-Circuit City building picture.

Now with 75% more clowns!
I'm still waiting for the first First National Bank of Dunkin' Donuts. Everything that opens up in closed places around New England, it seems, is either a Bank or a DD, so I figure it's only a matter of time before the two entities become one.
This is what happens to most large stores in South Carolina...

Oh the bible belt...
I decided to keep it classy:

I was convinced it was the San Mateo, CA store... until I decided it wasn't. It looks really similar, but I think the building extends too far along the left side of the entrance to be it.
I think with this economy yours makes the most sense, danilo.
Only the fit will survive. Only the stores with the best bargain deals will make it through.

OK, I'm in as well -- what business always does well in a down economy? Pharmaceuticals that cater to men's insecurities!

Had to rush.

It will become a business that can survive the rough economy. http://www.flickr.com/photos/netjipsey/3234791203/sizes/o/
an anonymous vote for Bottlekid's dystopian future battleground where Post-capitalism, economic downturn America meets it's older, worn-out, haggard sister, Suburban Chic. The giant, passed-out kitteh on the stoop is a superb touch.
Who wouldn't want to shop at a store full of wonderful things?

I found it rather amusing that in my RSS reader, every single article on BoingBoing is followed by a Circuit City ad. I don't know if everyone gets this, or if it's an artifact of my reader (Sage for Firefox), but it made me grin anyhow.

They've gotta put that thing somewhere...

What better place for it...

A book aisle devoted to one author who comes in for weekly self promotions, a beauty aisle where the hair dye is all peroxide, followed by two aisles of Disney goods. Unfortunately the movies and music aisles are empty because everything has been shoplifted. The electronics department is nice, but there are no price tags since half the stuff is not for sale prototypes and the other half you cant afford.
/did I miss anything?
//feels the ban hammer coming soon...
congratulation to the winners , i was late for this one T_T .

Downpwessuhhhh :(((
Yeah, soon as I saw Overlord I knew that one was the winner. Congrats, Anon!
Or it may become nothing at all, given the state of both the economy in general and retail real estate in particular.
There's a store in a faily affluent suburb here that has been vacant since SILO went out of business..

Aren't those clowns telling us to "come on in, everybody floats down here!" ?
