Tech Deals Roundup

Motown #1 MP3s – Amazon MP3 is the selling DRM-free album “Motown #1′s”, 26 tracks of Hitsville’s greatest, for two bucks. Nothing new for fans, but a good starter for everyone else. [Amazon]

Pink GPS – A refurbished Garmin Nuvi 250 in pink can be had for $90, shipped, or about $110 off. [Dealoco]

Keychain Pill Tote – It’s crap, but it could be your crap: a free aspirin tote from Bayer and the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease. (I don’t know how taking Quaaludes every day prevents heart disease but I’m willing to try!) [Bargainst]

Netbooks, Netbooks, Netbooks! – Three decent deals on three netbooks: HP Mini 1000 (Atom) for $300, shipped; MSI Wind U100 for $350 shipped, or $330 in-store at Best Buy; Acer Aspire One for $300, shipped.

Bib Coveralls – Craftsman Men’s Duck Bibs for $20, shipped, from Sears. [Dealnews]

Thermo Glasses – You know those cool insulated double-walled thermo glasses that Bodum makes that are always too expensive? They’re on sale at Amazon right now for 30-40% off, which makes them still really expensive, but at least not cripplingly so. [Dealnews]

Point-and-Shoot – Today’s Woot is the Casio Exilim 9MP Digital Camera for $115, shipped. Of course I would never go to Woot again because they dared to redesign their site which I find very offensive as I have been on the internet for quite some time and consider myself somewhat of an expert on what I prefer.

Bodum is okay I guess, but Tervis Tumblers make my heart swoon.

  2. Charlie Stross says:

Noteworthy point about the Netbooks: the HP mini 1000 model here has a 8.9″ screen and an 8Gb SSD rather than the 10.1″ screen and 60Gb hard disk drive. In other words, it’s a wee bit short on the go juice. (Still cheap, though.)

    Previously:

The snazzy MSI Wind U120 is on the Amazons for $380, which is only about $20 off MSRP, but this is a brand-new model. This was the one I was waiting on, but now I’m waiting on the VAIO P or the Asus with the tablet display.

Compared to $330-350 for the old U100 model listed above.

  4. Enochrewt says:

The new Woot feels like a pale imitation of the old Woot. They did need the site redesign though.

  5. Ronald Pottol says:

The Bodum glasses are nice but VERY delicate. I bought a set, and had busted both in a few months, I would not have expected a glass to break from such light contacts.

And with no lid, they don’t work as well as I’d hoped (no vacuum inside either).
