B.C. Rich Double Neck Bich guitar

Tom Whitwell may call the new B.C. Rich Double Neck Bich guitar “really ugly”, but he won’t say that when I crawl onto his roof and use it to summon the spirit of Paul Revere’s horse to jumpkick his family in the face. Remember who distorted guitars first, imperialist cake-eating dog!

Available only in “Trans Red”, the color of Pontiacs, pre-op leather bikinis, and the blood of Detroit’s finest. Price: You don’t deserve to know.

    What are those machines at the lower end of the top neck for? So you can tune with both hands?

  4. grimc says:

    @halloween jack

    12-string. But tuning a 6-string with both hands would be more metal.

    There is a reason that Boing Boing Gadgets has become my favorite blog. Statements like these are the reason

    I suppose the only appropriate description is “bichin’”…

    When I was a wee nipper, the single necked Rich Bich was my dream guitar.

    I even had to do a school report on it, making the reading out of “Bich” in front of the class deliciously risqué. The teacher didn’t bat an eyelid, both to my relief and consternation.

    HALLOWEEN JACK, looks like the upper neck is a 12 string. Those are the other six tuners needed to tune all 12. At least that’s how it looks to me.

    Also note how the head of the 12 string also functions as the end piece for the 6 strings that have their tuners at the bottom. That’s a nice touch, you’d slot the end (or the start, if that’s how you roll) of the string into the little holes inbetween the tuners on the head.

    Regular 12 string guitars have one end piece at the bottom of the guitar where all 12 strings are securely held to be tuned from tuners on the head.

    It’s a design choice that’s easy to see on a photo but apparently impossible to state clearly and concisely in text. I’ve never seen it done like that before.
