Pete Carr, whose photograph of a giant robot spider graced Boston.com over the weekend, has an entire gallery of it at his homepage. It’s practically impossible to pick a favorite: each and every one captures something wonderful of this freakish creation.
This shot, however, takes it for me: by somehow concealing the public festivities surrounding the machine, it becomes less a work of art and more the menacing, Tripods-like alien monster it conjures! You can buy prints here.
