As someone that used to Knock doors, I must say that this and most every electric doorbell is shite. They always break or their batteries die.
If BB is looking for an interesting bit of gadgetry you should solicit some pictures of door bells from when they were bells in your door. My all time favorites are those that you have to spin the handle.
