To celebrate the golden jubilee of their famous abattoir for arthropods, Uncle Milton toys has released their plain ol’ Ant Farm in the special edition packaging. I don’t know if it’s on purpose or not, but the cardboard is even distressed like it’s been sitting on a shelf for a while.

Ruining picnics…
Yeah, I went there.
I can’t help but think of Bruce Schneiers ant-farm realisation: “these guys will mail ants anywhere you choose” by simply filling out a form. Hilarious! (and also strangely profound?)
The 50th anniversary package was released in 2006, so that box includes three years of genuine wear and tear. Beautiful design.
Ah, brings back memories of looking for new red harvester ant nests, digging them up, finding the queen, and plopping her in an old ant farm. Nothing like an ant farm with eggs, larva, and workers to really impress your friends.
