I’m pleased as can be to welcome our latest guest blogger, Mat Honan. Mat is a San Francisco-based reporter, blogger, ex-fatty, infamous twitterer and all-around good egg. He’s a contributing editor at Wired magazine. He got his hair cut before I did so you can call me the poseur. You may also know him from Barack Obama is Your New Bicycle or that time he borrowed your pen and never gave it back.
He’s going to write about stuff. Welcome aboard, Mat!

Thanks Michael! But actually, for nothing I’d prefer freshly drawn glacial mountain water, hiked down from the Sierra in a leather satchet. Can you hook me up?
BoingBoing Gadgets has guest bloggers?! It looks like I’m going to have to get my act together and accomplish something blogworthy.
More importantly, welcome Mat. I just read the Wired Article listed in the post, and I have a sneaking suspicion that I’m going to enjoy your time here.
Old ice water from a leather bag?
Ewww.
Thanks BCJ! Glad you liked the story, that was a fun one. It’s quite intimidating to start blogging here, so I appreciate the kind words.
YOU! Give me my pen back! MAT HONAN!!! *clenches fist like Kirk in Wrath of Kahn*
J/K, welcome and I look forward to your posts! Cheers!
My dog just came into the room and farted when I opened this post. Auspicious!
Mat, we survived Wanky Shit Demon. I think you’ll do just fine.
Honan the Blogarian!
Wired things and projected subject area of blogging excite this fellow Alabamian. Welcome home, for a bit!
