I love Super 8! I shot some school projects last year with a Canon 814, which is a fairly high end consumer camera (as far as 8mm goes anyway).
This little short about a garden gnome is pretty grainy and overexposed, and it doesn't help that's it's a mirrorbox transfer (a digital video recording of a projection) rather than telecine, but Super 8 is alive and well among art school nitwits like myself: http://vimeo.com/2318362
