OLED Walkman X1000 up at Amazon UK

Smaller than the iPod Touch, the X-1000's got a brighter OLED touchscreen display and in-built noise cancellation. It also looks like an inexpensive tombstone.

Up at Amazon.co.uk for $300-ish or $400-ish depending on whether you want 16GB or 32GB, it'll be shipped within the next 5 weeks.

It looks much thicker than the iPod Touch, which means it really might not be smaller. And is sells at the same price. What's the point here? Is this for the Apple-haters? They got Zune.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but noise canceling monitors room noise and creates a sound wave that tries to offset constant tones that it picks up from the background. N'est-pas?
How does built in noise canceling possibly work when the thing is in your pocket?

#2: you probably need to use their proprietary earbuds, which have little built-in mics.
