iPhone gets CBS streaming

Gizmodo takes CBS’s new iPhone streaming app for a spin, and finds it much to its liking. Here’s Wilson Rothman:

There are a massive number of shows from the CBS family of channels, including Showtime, the CW and even CNET TV–all those video reviews. You can create a feed with your favorite channels and shows, but it’s actually pretty easy to get around if you don’t have any preferences, thanks to a well designed interface.

The bummer for now is that though there are CSI, Gossip Girl and Trek full episodes, most shows aren’t there yet.

Sadly, it’s not available in Canada.

    Nor UK..

Here’s a thing: I tried to go through a VPN to fool iTunes into thinking I was in the US, but it turns out it doesn’t matter, I forgot you have to register in a particular country (for payment).. So, I wonder, if I go on holiday to the US, can I use the app store on my device? Will it just keep defaulting to the UK store?

If you could get the CBS app, you could definitely use a VPN to get the shows.. So its just a matter of getting the app.

    Thats nothing- check this out:

You can also use http://3click.tv to stream tv episodes to your iPhone, and its better than paying 1.99 per episode. They have something like 12,000 ad free episodes you can watch on the iPhone without downloading- Works in Canada and UK too!
    enjoy :)
