Partnering with Steve Jobs in his formative years along with his generally sunny disposition has made Woz immune to the catty commentary that is de rigeur on this sort of program. The crowd was certainly with him! Nice job Woz!

I thought he’d be dancing with Kathy Griffin. Shucks.

He kind of dances like a little kid – all big smiles and over-sized off-rhythm steps… but he remembered a big old pile of bad choreography, you gotta give him credit for that.

To stay mentally sharp you need to learn new things that stress your abilities and are outside of your comfort zone.

In attempting to dance, Woz shows us all that he’s no dummy.

I find myself disappointed by the lack of segway.

All I see in that clip is Karina Smirnoff.

    Here’s the Segway goofing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2ZPw9UKfdM

This clip aired just before the dance clip above.

OK, so I will risk the contempt and banishment of my betters and suggest that if you sign up at http://abc.go.com you can vote for Woz up to 13 times.

And let’s face it — if we don’t all slog through the tedium of doing so, he’s gonna get sent home first, even before the rodeo cowboy.

So go prank ABC. Just this once. For hackers everywhere.

You can even play a 2600Hz tone into your computer mic as you do so. It won’t HELP, but you CAN.

Here is an interesting piece of trivia from a Woz interview by Wired.com:

Wozniak: Mark Cuban, the guy who referred me to the show, did the calculations and figured out even if the judges gave you zero and every other dancing partner got a perfect 300, if you got 6 percent more of the viewer vote you’d still win. So even if I do totally flub it, if I have a whole bunch of supporters coming from the geek world, I can win.

    Let’s make this happen people!

That wasn’t anywhere near as bad as the media had made it out to be. Woz was obviously enjoying himself and goofing off a little. <3

    This just in…

Steve is down! Looks like a minor foot fracture. Wait: He’s “going to play hurt” next week…

    …..Go Woz Go!
