Gallery of engraved laptops

You’ve seen some of them before here, but some newly-lased beauties stand out. Foliage is about the perfect engraving theme, but this one is particularly clever.

I was just thinking about Magritte the other day. Brilliant!

    Ceci n’est pas une MacBook

I’ve always wondered if that one scene in Firefly was a Magritte reference. Badger is sitting there, all dapper in his suit and “mighty fine” bowler hat, while peeling a green apple.

That’s pretty cool, but why do none of them, with the exception of the image above, use the apple logo more? They’re pretty images with a random apple in the middle.

I feel like they could do so much more!

Ah, that gallery has pt’s tarsier. I remember when I got up on stage at the Maker Faire… a little bit nervous… and saw that laptop sitting on stage. I’d seen it before on the internet, but I saw it in person and knew exactly its history and the owner. It grounded me a little – connecting the internet to the real world to that moment at the faire – and I went on to give a really fun presentation.

Bummer that they don’t give photo/artist credit though. These are awesome.

holy crap. 3 of those are mine! (hokusai’s plum blossoms, kozyndan’s bunny wave, next logo) i don’t have a single one of those laptops anymore. how sad. (they were all pre-intel.)

If I had a sufficient quality of dolla dolla bill y’all, I’d commission an artist to do an Art Nouveau-type design of Eve (with long hair strategically covering certain parts, so that I could take the MacBook out of the house) in the lower-left-hand corner, holding the Apple logo, with the Serpent in the upper-right, coiling down from the Tree of Knowledge.
