I hate to say it, but I can't really think of a reason for a prosthetic finger other than USB drive. I guess some Inspector Gadget like multi tool would be useful.

My father lost the tops of a number of his fingers in a machine once. He had no use for prosthetics. He did, however start growing a claw out of one of the fingers in lieu of a fingernail. That was awesome.

I mean, that's cool and all, but I feel like he's missing a real opportunity to pass as a wizard in the event he gets sent back in time (or if he's among gullible drunks). Just think what you could do with a cigarette lighter, LED light, or tazer disguised as a finger in the year 1100 or so. Rule the world or get burned at the stake, that’s what.
