Rebraun, a one-off MP3 console inspired by Dieter Rams

The “Bootleg Objects” project from Markus Wolf and Markus Bader crafted beautiful audio hardware cribbed heavily from the designs of Dieter Rams. Austere and gorgeous though they may be, the fact that the MP3-playing “Rebraun” console was designed in 2003 means that it has relatively ancient hardware inside its smart €12k case.
