Video: The colors of KitchenAid

Two things: Listening to Brian Maynard, Director of Marketing at KitchenAid, talk about all the color choices the company has used over the years is like hearing a short story about the history of mass market color in general. 50 different colors are available from the Ohio-based company. (I just used my powder blue KitchenAid to make some cheesecake bites.)

The other thing: I fucking love Core 77.

I love my KitchenAide. Powerful for home use, rugged and I know it can be fixed if something breaks.
The complete antithesis to the single use culture.

I got mine from state surplus missing a motor brush. $3 later and I had an excellent working mixer! It’s the K5ss, the lifting-bowl rather than tilt-head model. I love the sound of a high quality electric motor – Whirrrrrr

We have a purple KitchenAid stand mixer, but I’m waiting patiently for the Giger Alien xenomorph head paint job with mini jaws wand attachment. Oh to dream…

Cheescake bites! Maybe I’ll make some too… on my mom’s 30 year old dijon yellow Kitchen Aide that I’ve inherited. I think of it as sort of an heirloom appliance. It still works great, though the cord is starting to fray a little bit…
