Matt Nolan makes lots of interesting cymbals, including ones that are shaped like giant hands. Music Radar interviewed him inside the clattering percussion hall at Musikmesse ’09.

    Such nice sounds! I wonder what the price range is on these things- apparently he mainly sells custom work.

    One of my favorite cymbals is a horrible old K-Mart special, made out of some sort of very soft metal. Over the years, it has become hammered (just by playing) into a wonderful-sounding evil ride cymbal.
