This would be perfect for my old hard-disk iPod

Is there a point to this?

  3. alikuru says:

    What exactly is this for?

  4. Chad says:

Its for neutralizing magnetism that may build up in audio tape read/write heads and affect the sound.

Or it could obviate the need for those cumbersome and unsightly aluminum foil hats.

Actually, I’m half-heartedly in the market for a head demagnetizer. My overly obsessed audio friends insist that I get one before fully using my vintage hi-fi with dual reel-to-reels.

It hasn’t exactly been a priority.

I’ve got one for my reel-to-reel. It’s useful.

Yep, I’ve got a pretty similar unit as well that I use on my reel-to-reel decks. Got it on the cheap, and it does what it needs to.

Ever get a stereo speaker to close to a (old-style) TV screen? You know how it turns the screen into a purple blotch? This will fix that, as well.
