I do believe BitTorrent is available for Windows also, Mr. Goldman

Already clobbered once for his too-cosy association with Apple, CNBC tech journalist Jim Goldman is now issuing surrealist commentary about the differences between Macs and PCs. Did you know, for example, that you get Photoshop for free when you buy a Mac? [Gizmodo]

    He should get fired.

  2. tuckels says:

Where did he get photoshop for $150?

Even as a mac user, this report is ridiculous.

  3. Tensegrity says:

Wow, that dude actually gets paid for that “journalism”? Where do I sign up?

  4. bmjames says:

The arguments were ripped from BusinessWeek and sounds much more reasonable when you read the original.

For example, the “music software” mentioned is Garage Band – not iTunes, you idiots.

  5. Trent Hawkins says:

Wait, are these guys from the same network as the idiot that told people to buy Bear Stearns stock?

My favorite part was “Macs … have… a higher resolution screen”

Hmmmm. My Dell Studio 15 runs 1920×1200, a standard WXGA res, which appears to only be available on the larger, bulkier 17″ MacBook Pro. The 15″ MBPro only goes to 1440×900. (According to apple.com)

And my self-built PC desktop runs dual 30″ Sammys at 2560×1600 each. Pretty sure those will also run just fine if plugged into a Mac that can push them, so that’s equal.

    Techno-illiterate journalists are idiots.

The real, huge, ridiculous, problem here is not the accuracy of the details of various software or components. Reporting that is not based on facts is such commonplace now, that the only time we notice it is when it occurs in such an obvious manner. I’ll bet that the inaccuracies of this report were known, but chosen to be aired because it financially benefits someone to speak highly of Apple.
