I'm not quite sure I understand what exactly this poster's purpose is. Do I really need big yellow signs telling me "Thieves exist"? Nope. Oh wait a second... Lambeth? I'm feeling that a certain song has been lying to me. "Any time you're Lambeth way, Any evening, any day, You'll find us all, Doin' the Lambeth Walk. Oi!" and apparently they'll also be in your pocketz stealing your tunes!
Uh, perspective, do you use it? One of the greatest things to come out of the Rennaisance, I'm surprised it hasn't spread to your corner of the internet yet. Maybe you should call the perspective helpline, I'm sure they'll send a tech right round to help you with that.
The posters aren't there to tell you that thieves exist. It is there to exempt the police from any responsibility of going after the thieves when your device is stolen.
If you go to the police about a stolen iPod, they will just shrug and say "didn't you see the poster?".
In essence they are saying "use a music player in this neighborhood at your own risk"!

Some people like it when strangers grab their pod. Just saying.

that's why i always carry a $20 sansa in one pocket, and my iTouch in another. likely he'd see the sansa and say, 'oh, uh, nevermind, man'.

Apparently, all pickpockets London are gigantic and all mp3 device owners are very short.

Is that an image of Shaq about to steal an iPod from a hovering David Blaine?

I think a certain Mr. Oliver Twist might beg to differ.

The mp3 device owners may be very short, but they levitate like somebody twice their stature...

A guy knocked me down the other day and reached into my pocket, took out my Zune. He started to weep, gave me $5 then walked away.
