BBG on… Heat

Last week, we had some record high temperatures in San Francisco, and the entire city complained. We’re not used to hot weather here, and no place–not even the Burger King I ducked into for shelter–had air conditioning. It has cooled down now, but elsewhere in the Northern hemisphere, people are about to experience some of the hottest months of the year. Today on BBG, we explore heat: visit us throughout the day to find out how to build a legit pizza oven at home; how a Blockbuster quick-drop box in Liberia can be used to bake cakes; and how firefighters in San Francisco prevent from burning up when they’re about to dive into flames. Enjoy!

I’d like the heat to hold off a little.
Just today I threw a ton of wildflower seeds down in the gardens and a ton of grass seed on the lawn.

The best part was that it was showering lightly while I did it. It’s my favorite time of year, when it gets mild and even a little dreary.
It’s greening up here, so it isn’t dreary to me.
