A blog that has since disappeared apparently ran this pic of the “New iPhone 3G.” It’s a good pic — but is it real? No. The composition looks off, and “New Bottom Look,” with all the nerdy details, is wrong.
UPDATE: it’s art. Victor Anselme’s original concept design is here. Thanks, Jay!
Purported specs are at Cult of Mac. [hat tip: Camillo Miller]

Why don’t they stop kidding themselves and just call it PornChat?
I call BS. Apple don’t put two apples on things – and they won’t drop the apple from the back of the device. More practically, why would there be a speaker on the bottom?
That is so fake it’s not even funny.
There is speaker on the bottom of the current iPhone… for speakerphone, games, music without headphones, etc.
‘New Bottom Look’ – right…
The pic came from a Flickr poster as a ‘concept’

Worth mentioning:
The blog has NOT disappeared. More likely it was taken down temporarily to remove the concept image that accompanied an interesting story on the new iPhone. Or, you lot melted the server.
The actual article linked off the main page has some interesting ideas – whether it’s true or not, it’s something to think about. I like the location software described.
Was my previous comment moderated? That’s not cool…
@Hinges :
They do with the iMac, in the same way – one on front under the screen, one on back over the hinge for the stand.
Otherwise, I agree with Joel – FAKE with a capital “bogus”.
As a general rule, BBG is unmoderated. However, MT’s new comment system is terrible.
I wonder if Apple comes up with these fakes keep people guessing.
The i-chat video conferencing is what told me that this isn’t legit. AT&T is already having network bandwidth issues because of the popularity of the iPhone, and their exclusive right to offer it.
Although, it makes me wonder just what the actual relationship between AT&T and Apple is. How much input doest AT&T have into the design and features of the iPhone?
@ #2 Hinges:
Uh, it already HAS a speaker in the bottom. How do you think it rings?

I would say though that barring the inconsistent design cues (Apple is currently making things out of 1 slab of aluminum, having the aluminum frame and glass front would seem to be a step backwards) I wouldn’t be surprised to see the new iPhone be entirely buttonless on the front. Given that the new Powerbooks have that buttonless button trackpad, and how that blackberry had the buttonless button thing going on, it would seem to be the next step forward.
