13,500 Pages of Data Micro-Etched into Nickel

This piece of micro-etched nickel is comprised of 13,500 minuscule pages with info regarding 1,500 languages. It showed at the "Data + Art" exhibit, which was curated by folks from JPL and wrapped up last month at Pasadena Museum of California Art. A couple more images after the jump.

Update: Alexander Rose @ The Long Now says the piece is roughly 3 inches in diameter.

OK - most important fact is missing. How big is the nickel base? Was the title supposed to be "...A nickel..." or just "nickel"?
