I was in the art section of the campus book store and I was looking through the pens and pencils. there was this drafting pencil that was called a "lead holder"
it took me so long to figure out what it was.

A co-worker of mine has a Rotring rollerball pen that looks very much like this. Since Rotring's been closed for a couple of years, they're a pretty hot commodity on eBay right now.
Speaking of which, have you guys done a week of (non-tactical) writing implements yet?

Sounds like a good idea!

.7mm? Why not use a *crayon*‽ .5mm forever!

Ah... reminds me of my old Rotring 600. Speaking of tactical writing implements, the 600s were milled out of a solid block of brass and would have been more than capable (if properly applied) of putting a large hole on a person you happen to be seriously displeased with.
Fortunately, my local pen shop had a heap of end-of-line Rotring gear and I was able to stock up. My current weapon of choice is a Rotring Axtension Quattro.
v. shiny.

Nice, but I am still more enamored with my stainless steel sharpie

@5, Brianary - You may just be my archnemesis. Your username implies that your first name is the same as mine, you use .5mm pencils (come all the way, .3 is where it's at), and you use interrobangs. I'm really not sure how to feel about all this.
The Rotring 600, mentioned already, is a solid & sexy instrument.
I'd also put in a good word for the Lamy Scribble, available in .7mm or 3.15mm leadsize.

You have an archenemy and a nemesis, but there's no such thing as an archnemesis.
p.s. .5mm (and interrobangs) forever!

But is it tactical? It looks tactical.

I think that even the "tactical" writing implements only really have strategic utility.

I vote .9mm. But I'm a music copyist.
