Twelve Vintage Walkmans

Vince Veneziani points us to a dozen of Sony's classic cassette players. Some of them are pretty unremarkable, but this one--the first--is one of the best. [Oobject]

I have one an awful lot like this but in all silver (no blue). It's a great machine - fantastic build quality, metal casing, etc. Still works great after all these years. Pity I don't have a use for it.

@Dculberson: Get one of These or a more contemporary equivalent, and press it back into service.
That particular little widget actually monitors the direction and speed that its tape spindles are being spun, and treats those as mp3 player control inputs. Cute.

I have this exact one, passed onto me from my mom (who was flabbergasted I'd care). I think it still works, not sure.

The Walkman Professional was a cassette treat, apart from its battery life.
I wanted on for years. Unfortunately, just after I actually got one, minidisk happened and I never wanted to record on cassette ever again.
