Really, Rob? You’ve got to factor in the disassembly, at least. It’s got to be a pretty labor intensive process, start to finish. Also, I’m betting it’s a plastic dye process, not paint, but that’s just a hunch (the faq never mentions paint, only a “process.”)
It may not be overpriced for the amount of labor involved, but it definitely seems silly to spend $150 to paint (okay “recolor”) a $299 consumer device. Knock yourself out if that’s your thing, but I’d rather spend $140 on something more fun and spraypaint the thing myself.
No chrome? Lame.
