Did you even bother to read the product description? It's not an earbud, it's a 3" long speaker that plugs into your headphone jack. It's actually a pretty useful design, a portable speaker you can always carry with you.

And more importantly, it says "I am a MAC!" so you can broadcast your hipster coolness by dangling your keys.

You'll be in the food court prying off the ladies with a crowbar, my man!

Just because it is functional doesn't mean it's not pointless. Who wants a bunch of keys hanging off their iPod? In what situation would this be useful?

Would you then have to hold the iPod directly next to your head in order to get the thing in your ear?

I wish it was a bluetooth headset. So your keys could dangle from your ear.
